Art in Action

The Lansing Art Gallery sponsors Art in Action after school enrichment classes in cooperation with the Lansing School District. The Lansing Art Gallery's Art in Action program provides a valuable resource to teachers, parents, PTAs and principals who wish to expand student opportunities for educational enrichment.

Students of the Art in Action program are given hands-on instruction in a variety of visual arts media by professional, experienced art specialists. In addition, young artists visit Lansing Art Gallery for a docent guided tour and participate in a student art exhibition. Participation builds confidence, self-esteem, skill and knowledge.

Lansing Art Gallery's education outreach programs are now in its twenty sixth year. During this time, 11,500 young people have received over 43,000 hours of quality art instruction in their own school, sponsored by the Lansing Art Gallery.
